Guidelines Governing the Awarding of Scholarships
- One or more scholarships will be awarded each year.
- Scholarship money may be used for any academic or training program
that
helps recipient meet his or her goals.
- Recipients will be named during the SCFPA Annual Training Conference.
Guidelines Governing Competition
- Applicant must be in foster care at the time of application.
- Applicant shall be a graduating high school senior.
- All applications must be sent to the Scholarship Committee on or before
the announced deadline.
- Applicants must submit the following:
- Completed SCFPA Scholarship Application
- Three letters of recommendation which should testify to the applicant's
character, leadership, and basis of need.
The letters should be from
the following:
one from a teacher or school official,
one from someone who has known the applicant for at least six
months, and
one from applicant's foster parents
- Any additional information that might be pertinent to the committee
may be added at applicant's discretion
