Help Send a Foster Child to Summer Camp
SMART SUMMERS, STRONG KIDS

Remember summer camp? You came home after a week or so away with some new skills, more social savvy, and a good feeling about yourself and what you could do. Or maybe you went to a day program that helped you play a better game of baseball or write a short story.

In a state-wide needs assessment, foster parents named summer programs as their number-one need for the children in their care. We're responding with Smart Summers, Strong Kids, an initiative to

  • Help foster parents find the best summer opportunities for their children
  • Promote local capacity-building in identifying and maximizing resources
  • Establish a fund to help with program costs that can't be met otherwise
  • Enable kids to take part in programs that can make them smarter and stronger

Watch our short video.

A summer program really can be a step out of the woods for a child when it's most needed. A gift of $25 will pay for a day or more of sports camp; $250 will pay for a week of overnight camp. Anything is welcome and can light a child's way to self-confidence, knowledge, and social skills-the tools for future success.

Help us and the children by sending a tax-deductable donation to SCFPA, PO Box 39, Elgin, SC 29045 or make one through PayPal.

Donations should be earmarked for Smart Summers, Strong Kids.

If you prefer, call Jean Ross at (803) 790-1194 or Carl or Mary Brown at (803) 865-2020 to discuss your thoughts on sponsorship of one or more children.

Thank you for caring, for making a difference, for helping a child make a life.
